At present stem cells are more commonly isolated in tissues with high cell turnover, such as the bone marrow, skin, and intestine. It is clear that adult stem cells under appropriate experimental conditions can at some frequency exhibit a wide range of differentiation potentials. There is great enthusiasm for the potential use of stem cells in treating tissue degenerative disorders, but little is known about the intrinsic molecular programs defining stem cell biology. INBIOBANK is a cell banking facility that can provide stable, reproducible and well-characterized human cell lines, which are essential research tools in studies of the therapeutic potential of stem and primary cells. Our specific aim is to ensure supply of human stem and primary cell lines, which have been isolated and/or expanded under GMP conditions and with all legal and ethical requisites, as well as providing related services to researchers.
